Hands On: Design Brought to Life

This week we attended the opening of our first exhibition...very exciting stuff!
Working with the University of the Arts, London, as part of the London Design Festival, we curated a selection of fabulous domestic design & art pieces, creating a whimsical environment for them to sit in.

To celebrate the opening of the new Arts Gallery at 272 High Holborn, we imagined a party in a shoebox, transformed into a period drawing room, complete with giant matchbox table and huge articulated hands making the finishing touches to the scene. We made everything in craft materials, mainly cardboard & paper to differentiate our work from that of the designers & artists featured.

Work by: Reiko Kaneko, Cemel Okten, David Clarke, Julie Spurgeon, Robert Dawson, Laura Plant, Hektor Mamet, Christian Newton, Joe Ferrari, Sung Kug Kim, Elisa Strosyk, Anna Sudbina, Emi Miyashita, Alex Hoda, Debbie Lawson, Lucia Quevedo and Bodo Sperlein.

Many thanks to Medeia, Jelli & Anna at the University of the Arts London, and to all our lovely assistants who worked on this project: Olli, Russell, Lizzie, Carita, Laura, Sophie & Rich. All photos by Joanne Warren.

Great to see everyone who came down for the opening on Wednesday, the show runs until October 29th, so do go and see it in the flesh...
